JAY – Jay police officer Russell Adams was named the 2007 Employee of the Year on Jan. 30 by Police Chief Larry White Sr.

Adams was presented the award for his exceptional work in implementing the department’s new computer software program known as Informational Management Corp., White said.

“Officer Russell Adams displays great attention to detail and, because of the quality of his work on the project this past year, the project was a great success,” White said. “Officer Adams displays a high level of technical competence and is the projects maintenance supervisor.”

Adams, a full-time officer of the Jay Police Department since November of 1999, is a graduate of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and has a bachelor of science degree from Unity College.

Sgt. Troy Young and officer Michael Mejia also received recognition awards for their exceptional service this past year, White said.

“Both display positive attitudes toward their job and fellow officers,” White said. “Sgt. Young and officer Mejia display strong work values and are well respected by their peers.”
