MILTON, Mass. (AP) – Authorities have identified two people who died in separate house fires in Massachusetts.

In Mattapoisett, 72-year-old Carlton Cook was killed when flames swept through his home Sunday. Fire Chief Ron Scott says the house was already fully engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived.

In Milton, officials identified the victim of a house fire Sunday night as 55-year-old Robert Kane. Relatives and neighbors said Kane had cared for his mother in the home until her death recently.
