LISBON – The town has narrowed the list of economic development director applicants to four, Town Manager Steve Eldridge said.
Thirteen applications were received for the job, which pays about $50,000. Interviews will begin Feb. 14.
After 20 years, Daniel Feeney resigned from the position last year. He took a similar position in another community.
After his departure, Jennifer Stowell Norris was hired in late summer, but left in December.
In other business, Eldridge told councilors he is still working on sewer issues following complaints of sewer backups in cellars in a Lisbon Falls neighborhood.
In a workshop session, Eldridge reviewed the proposed budgets for the 2008-09 fiscal year with councilors. Town Charter requires both municipal and school budgets be ready by March 1.
Councilors also met in executive session to discuss an unnamed business that may be relocating here.
Following a public hearing, a special entertainment permit and liquor license renewal application from VFW Post 9459 was granted.
