LEWISTON – Announcement is made of the engagement of Erica McDonald and James Melnichok of Astoria, N.Y.

Miss McDonald is the daughter of Nancy McDonald of Lewiston. She is a 1998 graduate of Lewiston High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2002. She is currently working toward her master’s degree in library science at Pratt Institute. She is employed at Random House Inc. in New York City.

Mr. Melnichok is the son of Thomas and Charlotte Melnichok of Oakland. He is a 1998 graduate of Messalonskee High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee in 2002. He is currently employed by the Berman Group, a specialized public relations and marketing firm in New York City.

The couple was engaged Sept. 13 at New York’s Central Park. They will be married Sept. 27 at the Mooring Bed and Breakfast in Georgetown.
