AUGUSTA (AP) – Maine’s two Democratic congressmen say they are co-sponsoring a bill that aims to help veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Representatives Tom Allen and Mike Michaud announced Monday that they will submit The Full Faith in Veterans Act in Congress this week.

They say the bill will improve the way veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder are diagnosed, treated and compensated.

Allen says the U.S. government has failed too many veterans from earlier wars and must do better for those returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.
