This is in response to the letter from Elaine Graham, printed Feb. 5.
Who cares if homosexuality is genetic or not? The fact that the media is postively portraying homosexual behavior is not a reason for concern, but a reason for joy. People tend to forget that homosexual persons are humans as well. It’s as though homosexuality is something to be feared.
This is the “land of the free.” Freedom to vote, freedom to our privacy, freedom to individual religion. Why not freedom to choose how people live their lives?
No one needs people to tell them that their lifestyle is wrong, corrupt, heathen, etc.
If I told others that their religious views were wrong, and that they should stop immediately, would they?
If I told people that their political party was corrupt, and that there should be no more mention of it, would they simply stand aside and let it happen?
People have the right to live their lives the way they want, without persecution. The media is embracing that philosophy by promoting the homosexual lifestyle. Whether one is homosexual or not is their choice/genetic traits, and it does not concern any other individual.
I wonder how it affects Graham, for one? Do homosexuals knock on her door? If they don’t directly affect her, she should leave it be, look the other way and ignore it.
