FARMINGTON – A burglary and an attempted burglary at two businesses on Farmington Falls Road are under investigation.

Some items were taken from Goings Electric in Farmington Falls and an attempted burglary at the LEAP building was stopped by an alarm, said police Detective Marc Bowering. Both incidents were reported early Friday morning.

It is believed that the attempt at the LEAP building happened before 2 or 3 a.m. Friday, he said. It started snowing at that time and there were no visible tracks, he added.

Some building materials were taken from a storage unit at Goings Electric, said officer Mary Hastings. The thief appeared to take specific items and did not enter the main store.

Hastings believes that incident happened before 9 p.m. Thursday but was not discovered or reported until around 7 a.m. Friday. Police have some leads, she said.

The two incidents have not been connected, Bowering said.
