If there was ever an argument for the need of term limits, this has got to be it.

With so many things that need to addressed in this country – a down economy, the war in Iraq, gas and oil prices, illegal immigration – just to name a few, the most important thing to cross Sen. Arlen Specter’s desk is whether the New England Patriots have cheated!

I am beside myself.

I love football as much as the next fan, but the question of whether a football team cheats, wins or loses is the least of what affects my daily life. And when one of our elected officials, with all the things that should be a priority in this country, finds that Spygate is something that he/she needs to address, he/she needs to find another job.

We, as a country, need to start cleaning house regularly in the House and Senate. It is time to fight for term limits and get new people into these positions.

Specter was elected to the Senate in 1980. He has held that seat for 28 years. When he cannot find anything else to do for the country and his constituents, other than investigate a game, he needs to go home.
