Incident report statistics

Between Monday, Feb. 11 at 7 a.m. and Friday, Feb. 15 at 7 a.m. this department responded to 407 calls for service. Of those calls, 70 of them were motor vehicle stops.

Thefts

A vehicle parked at the Colisee was burglarized on Feb. 11 prior to 11 p.m. An iPod and a stereo face plate were stolen. The vehicle was unlocked.

A Fisher V plow which in a fenced in yard at 17 Bridge St. was stolen sometime overnight Feb. 11-12.

Numerous people had items stolen from the Alumni Gym women’s locker room on Feb. 13. Cash, iPods, and cell phones were taken.

A 9-foot Fisher V plow was stolen from 68 Whipple St. between 11 p.m. on Feb. 10 and 6 a.m. on Feb. 11.

A purse was stolen from an apartment at 119 Oxford St. overnight Feb. 13-14.

A vehicle parked in the lot of Albert and Burpee Funeral Home on Pine Street had its driver’s side window smashed out and the vehicle was ransacked between 9:30 p.m. and 11:50 on Feb. 14.

Criminal mischief

A Modern Woodcraft truck which parked at 55 Holland St. was tagged with graffiti overnight Feb. 11-12.

A vehicle parked at 86 Horton St. had its gas cover bent and the gas cap stolen overnight Feb. 10-11.

A door to the CMMC building at 95 Spring St. was tagged with graffiti during the early morning hours on Feb. 12.

Burglaries

An apartment at 36 Nichols St. was burglarized between 6-7 a.m. on Feb. 12. Entry was gained by forcing the front door; numerous electronics were stolen from inside.

A garage at 163 Rosedale St. was burglarized sometime between Feb. 9-12. A Honda generator was stolen from inside.

Nigerian scam

A resident of 231 Sabattus St. was contacted via e-mail by a subject in Africa who requested her assistance in forwarding some packages to him, which he was going to have delivered to her house. Numerous packages did end up arriving at her home from various online retailers, likely all were purchased using a stolen credit card number. The resident eventually felt this was suspicious and reported it to the police. The property was returned to the retailers and her address was flagged with three major shipping outlets so that she will no longer receive these packages. This is a classic Nigerian scam.

Operating after suspension arrest

Henry Daigneault, 45, was arrested and charged with operating without a license on Feb. 13 at Central Avenue and Sabattus Street following a routine traffic stop.

Operating under the influence arrest

Nicholas Wilson, 23, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence on Feb. 14 at 8:10 p.m. on Alfred Plourde Parkway. Officers were looking for the vehicle after it was reported to be operating erratically on the Maine Turnpike.
