LEWISTON – More than 100 lawyers from the Androscoggin County Bar Association have collectively raised $10,100 for an oil relief fund. The bar association is donating funds to United Way of Androscoggin County in support of the heating initiative.

Daniel D’Auteuil, partner of Isaacson and Raymond, PA, and president of the Androscoggin County Bar Association, said, “With the rising oil prices, members of the Androscoggin County Bar Association realize the growing need for heat assistance. With this donation, we hope to create a positive impact in Androscoggin County by providing assistance to individuals and families in need.”

Through United Way’s heating assistance initiative, the donated funds will be distributed to agencies in Androscoggin County, including the Salvation Army and Rural Community Action Ministry in Leeds.

For 75 years, United Way of Androscoggin County has worked to increase the organized capacity of people in Androscoggin County to care for one another. Those who would like to volunteer or make a donation should call 795-4000 or visit www.unitedwayandro.org.
