Breakfast talk
WILTON – Lisa Laflin of the Healthy Community Coalition will speak on the topic of “Homelessness in Franklin County” at the Wilton Early Bird Community Breakfast on Wednesday, March 5, at the Wilton Congregational Church, 386 Main St. Doors will open at 6:30 a.m. for a hot buffet breakfast. The program will run from 7 to 7:30 a.m. Admission is free, and donations will be accepted. The public is welcome.
SAD 52 class
TURNER – SAD 52 River Valley Adult and Community Education, along with the Maine Educational Opportunity Center, will present “College Ready” from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at the Adult Learning Center, 486 Turner Center Road.
Participants will learn more about the process of applying to colleges and how to get the most out of scholarships and financial aid.
The workshop is intended for those adults without a high school diploma, not enrolled in a degree program and not holding a four-year college degree. They will find out how to fill out college applications, FAFSA forms and interest surveys.
