Women’s conclave
WATERVILLE – A Women’s Winter Warm-Up Conference will be held Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8, at Faith Evangelical Free Church, 250 Kennedy Memorial Drive.
Theme will be “Hearts on Fire: Igniting Spiritual Passion” featuring author, speaker and precepts teacher Pam Gillaspie of Deep and Wide Ministries.

Walk for Thought
AUBURN – The Brain Injury Association of Maine will hold its 18th annual fundraising event, The Walk for Thought, on Saturday, March 22, at six locations around the state.
Funds raised will help support programs and activities offered survivors and family members as well as brain injury prevention programs for children.
A walk will be held at Edward Little High School with a route that is approximately four miles. It will take place in rain or snow but in case of severe weather, the event will go on in the facility.
Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. with an official kick-off starting at 8:50. A light breakfast will be available. When walkers return they will be greeted by the Red Carpet Crew Cheerers; lunch will be available, donated by local businesses.

Camp grants
BRUNSWICK – Merrymeeting Audubon Society, a chapter of Maine Audubon, is offering scholarships to local summer environmental education camps. All are residential and full to half scholarships are available.
Applicants submit essays with a completed application form, available in area schools or by calling the numbers listed.
Children now in grades three through five may apply for Tanglewood 4-H Camp in Lincolnville. For information, call 729-3343 or 442-8195.
Students who will be 10 to 14 in August may apply to Maine Conservation Camp in Bryant Pond. For information, call 729-9650.
For one student and one adult interested in stewardship of the natural environment, two thirds scholarships are offered to Maine Audubon’s Hog Island camp in Bremen. Students age 10 to 14 may apply for Youth Camp. Adults may apply for field ornithology or natural history of the Maine Coast.
