EUSTIS – A Eustis woman faces an assault charge after she and another woman at an apartment complex got into an altercation.

The women have lingering resentment toward one another and decided Wednesday was the day to settle it, Franklin County Sheriff’s Sgt. Steven Lowell said.

The fight took place outside the 42 Old Dead River apartment complex where both women live, he said.

Some punches were thrown but nobody was injured, Lowell said.

Lowell issued summonses to Cynthia MacLean, 50, on charges of assault and violation of conditions of release. She is scheduled to appear March 20 in 12th District Court in Farmington.

State Trooper Scott Stevens arrested Maclean on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on charges of driving to endanger and operating without a license, Lowell said.

The other woman, Theresa Leighton, 35, was not charged, he said.
