BRUNSWICK – Investigators are looking to the public for leads in a bomb threat that resulted in the evacuation and temporary closure of the Wal-Mart store here.

Brunswick police said someone called in a bomb threat to the department’s communications center at 7:15 a.m. Sunday. Police evacuated the store and searched the building with a bomb-sniffing canine team while detectives gathered physical evidence and reviewed video surveillance tapes.

Police officers were assisted by members of the Brunswick Fire Department, Brunswick Naval Station and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives determined the threat was a hoax. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Brunswick Police Criminal Investigation Division at 725-6634.
