Meeting speaker

LEWISTON – The National Active Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 1130 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at the Ramada Inn. Speaker will be Judy Meyer, daytime managing editor, Lewiston Sun Journal.

Plans for the meeting were made at the home of Vi Dumais.

To confer degrees

AUBURN – A special meeting of Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Feb. 28, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. Officers will confer the degrees of the order.

All Eastern Star members are invited to welcome the new member. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall after the meeting.

Fellowship

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet on Monday, March 3, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will begin for fellowship at 11:30 a.m. All interested widows in the area are invited to attend.

Seniors lunch

SABATTUS – Sabattus Seniors will meet meeting for lunch on Thursday, March 6, at the Maxwell Hall. The menu will be spaghetti and meatballs followed by bingo. Those who would like to sign up should call Doris Pelletier at 784-7950.

Trips coordinated by Jean Doyon include Hollywood Slots on April 1 and June 3; Foxwoods, March 11, April 8, May 13 and June 10; Cloutier maple sugar party at Lac Megantic, April 15; dinner and show with Mark Verselli, impressionist, in Massachusetts on April 17. Autism support

AUBURN – An autism support group will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, at the John F. Murphy Homes Inc., 800 Center St.

The session is for parents of children and adults with autism. The facilitator will be a long-time parent of an adult with autism and the meeting is for all parents of children/adults with autism. Refreshments will be served.

The agenda will include introductions, what the group would like to gain from attendance, problems being faced, resources, topics of interest to research for future meetings and guest speakers and the next meeting date. Meetings will last no more than two hours.

Seniors trips

LEWISTON – The Lewiston Senior Citizens are offering the following day trips for anyone age 50 or over:

On Monday, March 17, the bus will leave at 9 a.m. for the March Irish Show at the Danversport Yacht Club. There will be a meal and entertainment by Massachusetts “Singing State Trooper” Dan Clark, his wife, Mary, and Ray. There will also be music for line dancing and ballroom dancing. Cost is $89 a person.

On Saturday, April 12, Smucker’s Stars on Ice starring Sasha Cohen will be at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The bus will leave the Multi-Purpose Center at 4 p.m. Cost is $60 a person.

On Tuesday, April 29, members will go to Hollywood Slots in Bangor. The van will leave around 8:15 a.m. and lunch will be at the Hollywood Slots. Cost is $18 a person.

On Tuesday, May 20, a Gateway Cruise, Lunch and Shop bus will leave at 7:30 a.m. for Boston. There will be a cruise, lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and shopping at the Cambridge Side Galleria. Cost is $69 a person.
