DOVER, Del. – Maine pitchers combined to scatter 11 hits and the offense pushed 27 runs across the plate as the Black Bears swept a doubleheader with Delaware St. Monday, 16-7 and 11-3.

Catcher Myckie Lugbauer went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored and first baseman homered, scored five runs and drove in three as Maine scored in every inning of the 16-7 first game.

Third baseman Jarrett Lukas also homered and drove in three runs for Maine.

Matt Jebb picked up the win, giving up five runs (0 earned) and seven hits in four innings of work.

He struck out four and walked two.

Lugbauer and Lukas continued their production in Game 2, rapping two hits and knocking in three runs apiece as the Black Bears scored all of their runs in the final two inning to come from behind and win, 11-3.

Smith had a pair of hits and drove in a run. He also had a stolen base in each game of the doubleheader. Outfielder Kevin McAvoy collected two hits and scored a pair of runs for the Black Bears.

Lugbauer homered and had a double and also pitched 2/3 of an inning of perfect relief following starter Alejandro Balsinde. Balsinde tossed 6 1/3 of four-hit ball. He gave up two earned runs, walked three and fanned three.

Former Winthrop High School star Tavis Hasenfus apwent 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter in the first game.

Maine improved to 4-0 on the season. Delaware St. is 0-4.
