LEWISTON – A downtown advocacy group will kick off its new agenda at a gathering at noon Saturday at the community garden on Knox Street.

The Visible Community’s Downtown People’s Master Plan calls for greater investment in safe, affordable housing, improved public transportation, community gathering space, job training, and full inclusion of downtown residents in city planning decisions.

Participants will engage in a performance documenting the Visible Community’s history and achievements. Horton the Elephant will make a special appearance to inspire people to raise their voices for the betterment of the community. There will be hot chocolate and free food provided by the Salvation Army.
