Legion meeting
AUBURN – American Legion Post 31 and Auxiliary, 426 Washington St. North, will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the post home. Post Commander Stanley Brickel is requesting that members attend.
Lodge degree
AUBURN – Ashlar Lodge 105, AF and AM, will work a Master Mason Degree on Monday, March 10, at the Auburn Masonic Temple, 1021 Turner St. There will be a 6:30 p.m. supper followed by the work at 7:30. All Master Masons are welcome. For more information, contact Steve Peterson at 777-1728.
Meadows speaker
GREENE – Michael Doyle, manager of consumer affairs for the U.S. Postal Service in Maine, will speak on “Don’t Fall for a Fake Check Scam,” the theme for this year’s National Consumer Protection Week activities. He will also address related issues such as identity theft, mail safety and financial literacy at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at the Meadows, Route 202. The public is welcome.
Golden Age meal
AUBURN – An Auburn Catholic Community Golden Age meeting will be held at noon Tuesday, March 11, at Sacred Heart. Corned Beef and cabbage, bread, coffee, tea and make-your-own sundaes will be served.

Members are asked to bring items from home for the auction in April. Those in the Auburn Catholic Community Churches wishing to join the club should call Paula.
Breastfeeding
AUBURN – Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to the La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are welcome.
Discussion, “Breastfeeding: Avoiding and Overcoming Difficulties,” will focus on concerns about preparing to nurse baby at birth and adjusting to babies’ changing needs. All concerns about breastfeeding are welcome for discussion.

Club speaker
AUBURN – The Auburn Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Schooner Estates Retirement Community in the Tenants Harbor Room.
Speaker will be Thomas Desjardin, local author and scholar of American history. Desjardin has written several books on the American Revolutionary and Civil wars. He has also appeared in television documentaries and has served as a historical consultant on the set of the movie, “Gettysburg,” filmed in 1993.
Benita Flynn, chairwoman, will be joined by Dorothy Prince, Margaret Bunker and Carole Seward in planning and presenting the meeting.
Bridge winners
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the annual membership game at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 3 were: first overall, Richard Allen and Pete Cummings; second/third tie, Alberta Turner and Luke Merry with Larry Fortier and Paul Sherman, first overall in B; fourth, Rosemarie Goodwin and Roger Briggs; second in B, Cynthia Bonsey and Sue Kaluzynski.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie for information about all duplicate bridge games.
