Our team went into the first tournament game with a hopeful outlook. We were playing Hebron Academy. After the deserved and well-fought victory, the team celebrated lightly. Knowledge of the looming game ahead made everyone nervous. With an optimistic outlook towards the game, we went in to play Madison. Even though they were ranked much higher than we were, we figured that getting to this game was already a great thing. This was a milestone because the girls team had never gotten this far.
Madison was a tough loss, with them in the lead by 45 points. The team, although proud to have gotten there, still walked away upset by the crushing loss. This was not the highlight of the game though. Most people had predicted the outcome by the previous records by both sides.
The creative cheers were entertaining and quite hilarious. Unfortunately the law enforcement and heads of the tournament had to reprimand both cheering sections. Some examples of the cheers were: SDRHS: “God still loves us!” MHS: “Not so much!” and SDRHS: “We have cable!” MHS: “We have DSL!”
