With all the controversy over the projected wind farm in Byron and Roxbury, we owe it to ourselves to become more informed of the facts before we make a hasty decision that we may regret.

The recent informational meetings conducted by Independence Wind have shed very little light on the impact of their project on those small communities.

With the last meetings conducted just days away from the annual town meetings, where the company would like both towns to quickly change the town ordinances to allow construction of the behemoths, seems sheepishly hasty to me. Most of the people I have talked with seem to know very little about wind power.

People deserve all the facts, pro or con, before they can make an informed, knowledgeable decision.

I suggest that both towns seek a moratorium to gain more insight on such an important issue. After all, we’ll be the ones looking at those mountain monsters for the rest of our lives.
