FARMINGTON – Geraldine E. “Gerry” Royal, 96, of Livermore Falls, died early Saturday morning, March 8, at the Sandy River Center for Rehabilitation in Farmington.
She was born July 17, 1911, in Garland, a daughter of Herman and Nettie Heath. She graduated from Milo High School in 1929, and moved to Livermore Falls to live with relatives.
On Oct. 23, 1930, she married Charles Raymond Royal. He died on Oct. 2, 1956.
Mrs. Royal was a member of the Moose Hill Baptist Church and attended weekly Bible study.
She was employed at Livermore Shoe for 23 years as a stitcher and did home stitching for them after she retired in 1977.
During her younger years, she enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband. She liked to cook and sew and made many quilts. She also liked feeding and watching the birds, and caring for her flowers.
She is survived by a grandson, Donald LeBlonde of Livermore Falls; a great-granddaughter, Nichole Gardner of Livermore Falls; two step great-granddaughters, Melissa Benson of Livermore Falls, and Jessica Gardner of Lewiston; a sister, Marion Montuori of Waterbury, Conn.; sister-in-law, Elaine Heath of Dover-Foxcroft; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; a daughter, Ruth LeBlond in 1959; a son-in-law, Raymond LeBlond; brothers, Allen and Leigh Heath; and two sisters, Ida Stevens and Gertrude Heath.
