KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks signed free agent running back Julius Jones to a multiyear contract on Monday.
Jones is the second running back the Seahawks have added in the past week to go along with former Lion T.J. Duckett.
Seattle has Jones, Duckett, former MVP Shaun Alexander and backup Maurice Morris under contract for the 2008 season.
Jones has spent all four of his seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, but lost playing time to Marion Barber last season. Jones’ best season came in 2006 when he rushed for 1,084 yards.
Dunn returns to Buccaneers
TAMPA, Fla. – Running back Warrick Dunn signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, returning to the team he played for during his first five NFL seasons.
Dunn, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, spent the past six seasons with Atlanta, where he became the franchise’s third-leading rusher with 5,979 rushing yards. Last season, he became the 22nd player in NFL history to surpass 10,000 yards rushing.
Dunn, who played for Tampa Bay from 1997-2001, still ranks third on the Buccaneers’ career rushing list with 4,200 rushing yards.
Titans sign lineman Jake Scott from Colts
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Offensive lineman Jake Scott agreed to terms on a multiyear contract with the Tennessee Titans on Monday.
The unrestricted free agent played for the Indianapolis Colts the past four seasons.
, starting 57 games, including a current streak of 55 straight. All but four of his starts came at right guard.
