AUBURN – District 3 Commander Kenneth Bouchard, Post 10, and Adjutant Bill Barr, Post 66, have announced the District 3 meeting to be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. North.

Nomination of officers for 2008-2009 will be held as well as discussion of Legion programs and membership.

March 15 is the 89th birthday of the founding of the American Legion by Theodore Roosevelt. Legion post are encouraged to hold a birthday party with materials available for membership into the American Legion. Veterans are invited to visit a post near them and bring a copy of their DD-214.

Post are also reminded to remember Operation Iraqi Freedom, which began on March 20, 2003, and those men and women who are serving the country.

Officers and members of Posts 10, 22, 31, 66, 111, 135, 150, 153, 158 and 210 are invited to attend the district meeting.
