BETHEL – Gould Academy has hired Lauren Crothers Simard as the new director of the winter term program. Simard brings a strong background in adolescent development to an important residential setting, as well as a keen understanding of the Gould community and the competitive on-snow world.
Gould’s winter term program offers a select group of 8th- and 9th-grade students an opportunity to train in alpine, Nordic, snowboarding or freestyle disciplines under the direction of the academy’s highly qualified, full-time on-snow coaching staff. The program runs each year from November to March.
Simard recently returned to Gould with her husband, head alpine coach Kurt Simard, where she had previously served as assistant director of admissions and director of public relations from 1995-1999. She received her master of science in marriage and family therapy from the University of New Hampshire in 2005.
