PARIS – The Planning Board is requesting more feedback on a proposed 13-lot subdivision off Boulder Avenue before any action is taken.

The board met Tuesday night for a preliminary plan review of the development proposed by R&D Land Sales of Wilton first presented in April 2007.

During the public hearing, Selectman Raymond Glover said he supported the extension of nearby Mountain View Drive to allow easier emergency access to the road.

Tom Kennison of Western Maine Surveying and Development said R&D has a right of way on the land between the subdivision and Mountain View Drive for sewer and water lines, but does not own the land. He said Mountain View Drive residents would be able to drive across it in an emergency.

Kennison said the name of the subdivision road has changed from Boulder Road Extension, originally proposed to facilitate emergency response to the subdivision.

It will now be known as Golden Road Estates.

Planning Board member Bob Kirchherr said he was concerned that the development might violate a section of the subdivision ordinance specifying that dead-end streets may serve up to 14 lots or dwellings.

“Boulder Avenue is already a dead-end street, and we’re adding 14 lots onto the end of that,” he said.

The board voted to consult with the town attorney on the subdivision’s homeowners’ association bylaws and the possible conflict with the ordinance.
