BRYANT POND – The Feeding Friendzy, a small bakery/grocery store located in the old “Chase House” on lower Main Street in Bryant Pond, opened in early February. Owner Wendy Bertrand says the store offers good food products and sundries at affordable prices. The main focus is foods with no artificial ingredients, and organic products ranging from milk and eggs to shampoos and personal items. The store specializes in home-baked goods made by the owner. Organic bread and semi-organic whoopee pies are two typical offerings.
Bertrand is a professional chef of 20 years and a graduate of Culinary Arts School at SMCC. She has a strong background in the catering field, with five years as manager of the food and nutrition department at Mid Coast Hospital in Bath/Brunswick. She wants to help others learn about healthier foods.
The Feeding Friendzy is open on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
