NEW SHARON – Pat and Pam Elwell of Smithfield are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Lee Elwell of Bangor, to Duncan Averill of Bangor, son of David and Sandra Averill of New Sharon.

Miss Elwell is a 2001 graduate of Messalonskee High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in kinesiology and physical education. She is assistant athletic trainer at the University of Maine at Orono.

Mr. Averill is a 1999 graduate of Mt. Blue High School and a 2004 graduate of Bridgewater State College with a degree in physical education. He is assistant football coach at Husson College.

A July 19 wedding will be held in Smithfield.
