Easter service
PARIS – Silver Moore-Leamon will be the guest speaker for the Easter Sunday service at the First Universalist Church on Pine Street.
The music is under the direction of Forest Smith and Sunday school is under the direction of Renee Wales. Coffee and fellowship will follow the 10 a.m. worship service and all are welcome. Child care is available.
Teachers meeting
PARIS – Oxford Hills Retired Teachers will hold a business meeting at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the Buckfield Community Church, Route 117. A luncheon will be held at noon and the fundraiser is a book sale.
Gardening
DENMARK – The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is offering a two-part vegetable gardening workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, April 16 and 23, at the Denmark Arts Center, 50 West Main St.
The first session will cover the basics of vegetable gardening: site selection, planning, watering, fertilizing and other maintenance needs. The second session will cover the growing needs of specific crops that do well in home gardens.
There is a $5 fee for the two-week workshop and preregistration is required by calling the Oxford County Extension office at 1-800-287-1482.
