ZEBULON, N.C. – The wedding of Shawna Erin Edwards and Corey Jones Bonnevie, both of Zebulon, N.C., was held June 23 at the Social Plains Baptist Church. The Rev. Louise Wood, grandmother of the bridegroom, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride entered the sanctuary to the CBS Civil War film theme song “Ashokans Farewell,” which was written by a friend of the family. Soloists were Al Hawkes of Westbrook, who sang “A Daisy a Day,” and Jill Massey, who sang “Look at Us.”

The bride wore a Barcelona-style satin gown which had a lace overlay that cascaded into a train. The bodice had a corset-style back and the lace cap sleeves enhanced the scoop neckline that sparkled with crystal embellishments. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and daisies.

The maid of honor was Kaila Fletcher. Bridesmaids were Amanda Jones, sister of the bridegroom, Sarah Neville and Elizabeth Hilliard. Flower girl was Faith Holland.

Greg Jones served as best man for his son. Groomsmen were Ardie Watkins, Danny Nayman and Ryan Glidden. Connor Wood served as ring bearer.

The reception was held at the Rocky Cross Holiness Church Family Life Center, where the couple, both award-winning musicians, provided the entertainment, accompanied by friends.

Mrs. Bonnevie is a graduate of Lake Shore High School and received her CNA from Vance-Granville Community College in Louisburg, N.C., and continued her education at Johnston Community College in Smithfield, N.C. She is the granddaughter of Debra Edwards and Jamie Vachon of Lewiston.

Mr. Bonnevie is the son of Greg and Faye Jones of Zebulon, and Barry and Lori Beth Bonnevie of Fayette. He is the grandson of the Rev. Louise Wood and the late Robert Wood of Chinquatin, N.C., Carl and Willa Dean Lucas of Roseboro, N.C., Ervine and the late Arthur Bonnevie of Livermore, and Dick and Becky Pelletier of Fayette.
