FARMINGTON – Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services (SAVES) has announced a new session of its Expressive Arts Recovery Group for Women. Although the group is already under way, enrollment will be open until April 15.

The support group is meeting from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays in Farmington. Women who would like to join the group may call SAVES at 778-9522.

Using several art mediums, members will have opportunity to express how trauma has affected their lives and, through the creative process, discover possibilities for healing.

In addition to support groups, SAVES offers other services to survivors of sexual trauma, as well as family members and significant others affected by the sexual trauma of their loved ones.

Although the Expressive Arts Group is designed for women, most of SAVES’ other services, including its 24-hour helpline, are available to women, men and transgender individuals.

The SAVES helpline number is 1-800-871-7741. Local cell phone uses should dial 1-866-740-9516. SAVES is located at 138 Pleasant St. The general office number is 778-9522. SAVES is a supported agency of United Way of the Tri-Valley Area.
