ELLSWORTH – Several scholarship funds are open to Androscoggin County residents. Due to the generosity of donors, Maine Community Foundation awards more than 800 scholarships annually, including the following in Androscoggin County:
The Anchorage Scholarship for Visual and Performing Arts supports graduates of Leavitt Area High School, who are pursuing a degree in visual or performing arts at an accredited college or university. There is a preference for residents of Leeds. Contact the Leavitt Area High School guidance office for details.
The Annette M. Brown Scholarship Fund provides renewable support to graduating seniors at Edward Little and Lewiston high schools pursuing post-secondary education. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, a level of academic achievement suitable for predicting success in college, and a strong character and family values. There is a preference for students who will be the first in their family to attend college.

The Donald W. Webber Scholarship Fund provides support for graduating seniors at Edward Little High School who are attending a four-year college. Contact the Edward Little High School guidance office.
The Donald C. and Ruth A. Webster Scholarship Fund provides renewable support to graduating seniors at Edward Little High School pursuing post-secondary education at a two- or four-year college or university. Eligible applicants will demonstrate financial need, solid academic performance (minimum grade point average of 3.0), the ability and determination to succeed in college, and active citizenship in school and/or community. The Leeds Scholarship Fund supports a graduating senior at Leavitt Area High School who resides in Leeds, pursuing post-secondary education at a college, university or community college. Contact the Leavitt Area High School guidance office.
Paul Stephen Friedler Scholarship Fund applicants need to be graduating seniors of Lewiston High School who are pursuing post-secondary education, preferably in music, philosophy, mathematics or physics. Contact the Lewiston High School guidance office.
