FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is offering scholarships for college-level courses to eligible Franklin County residents.

Two scholarships for $750 each are available, not only to 2008 high school graduates, but to anyone going back to school for a new career, new skills training or continuing past freshman year. To receive the scholarship, the student must be registered as a full-time student.

Funded, in part by the chamber’s fall golf scholarship classic, the scholarships can also be used for on-campus housing and on-line courses offered by educational institutions if part of a degree program. Deadline for applying is Tuesday, April 15.

Details and an application can be picked up at the chamber’s office on the Wilton Road, from www.franklincountymaine.org (in the “About the Chamber” section), or at local high schools.
