PARIS – Three men pleaded not guilty Thursday in Oxford County Superior Court to several charges stemming from a destructive crime spree in northern Oxford County in December.

Scott Pike, 24, of 214 Blake St., Lewiston, Josh Hodgkins, 25, of 428 Waldo St., Rumford, and Benjamin Hodgkins, 18, of 683B Roxbury Notch Road, Roxbury, are each charged with three counts of unauthorized use of property, three counts of aggravated criminal mischief, two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, and two counts of aggravated criminal mischief. Pike and Benjamin Hodgkins are also charged with an additional count of criminal mischief.

The men were indicted in February.

Pike was indicted in December on a separate charge of receiving stolen property. According to an affidavit by Lt. Hart Daley of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Pike stole a 1989 Toyota 4-Runner from the parking lot of the Sunday River Ski Resort on Dec. 7 and attempted to sell it to a metal salvage business.

Two days after the 4-Runner theft, two other vehicles were stolen and two convenience stores damaged in several towns, and authorities allege the three men are responsible. The indictments charge the men with damaging the 4-Runner, breaking into the Rumford Public Works Department, and stealing a chain saw and gas can from building.

Police say a one-ton pickup truck belonging to the town was also stolen and its transmission damaged. The truck was later crashed into a sign at Cogley’s junkyard on Route 120, where another truck was stolen and driven through a fence.

During the spree, Ellis Pond Variety in Roxbury was heavily damaged as vandals destroyed the door, windows and cooler doors at the store and stole cigarettes, beer and food. Pike and Benjamin Hodgkins are charged with damaging the rear door to the Mills Market in Andover.

Police estimated that the damages exceeded $25,000 total.
