SANFORD, Fla. (AP) – Hospital officials in central Florida say a 1-day-old baby apparently abducted from the infant unit has been found safe.
Central Florida Regional Hospital spokesman Craig Bair says an alarm alerted hospital officials to the abduction at about 2 p.m. Friday.
Bair says the baby has now been located.
Police in Sanford say they found two women with a baby that matched descriptions. They are working to conclusively identify the baby.
The hospital was briefly locked down while authorities searched the grounds.
