Dear Sun Spots: I have a Dell laptop that needs attention. Is there anyone locally in Lewiston-Auburn that can repair this or do I have to send it back to the company? Help, please! – Terri, No Town.

Also check to see if your laptop is still under warranty. Visit www.support.dell.com to see if it is still under warranty and which services are covered. If your warranty has expired and you need to have it serviced by the company, call 1-800-624-9896. You will need the Express Service Code (located on your computer) and for $39, a Dell technician will diagnose the problem and send you packaging and instructions to mail your notebook to a repair facility. Your repaired notebook will usually be returned to you in 7 to 10 business days after you’ve shipped it. The cost for repairing notebooks starts around $159.
