PORTLAND (AP) – A Portland man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on a federal firearms charge stemming from a home invasion in Buxton two years ago.
Twenty-four-year-old David Paul Nanos was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland.
According to court records, Nanos fired several shots from a semiautomatic pistol during the home invasion and was shot in the hand when the homeowner returned fire. Prosecutors say Nanos was prohibited from having a firearm because of 10 previous felony convictions.
Nanos’ partner in the crime, Ryan Butterworth, was sentenced last month to 71 months in prison on a firearms charge.
