Having just celebrated Easter and being reminded of the last few words of Jesus on the cross, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do,” I find myself having to put my faith into practice.

After reading Mark LaFlamme’s column of March 26, “Sinful South soon loses shimmer,” my first thought was “Oh, ye of little brain,” and my second thought was if he had made as much fun about Islam as he did Christianity, he would probably be hiding under his desk right now.

LaFlamme’s smart-aleck style of writing is ridiculous. He writes of his ride to redemption, searching for bottled salvation, and splashing holy water on himself after peeling out of a parking lot. Not to mention the only time he slowed down on his trip was to gather details of an exotic dancing business on the side of the road for his “He who is without sin” group back home.

I wonder what group, church, organization or denomination he is making reference to?

Seeing that there is so much sarcastic religious overtone to his column, I feel totally comfortable sharing a Bible verse in response to what I would call blasphemy. It is found in Proverbs 14:9, “Fools make a mock at sin: But among the righteous there is favour.”
