AUBURN – Police arrested Jeffrey Hyde, 47, at home on Friday and seized 344 prescription pills and $2,463 cash, Deputy Chief Jason Moen said.
Some of the pills, all narcotics, were prescribed to Hyde and some had been bought from others, he said.
Hyde was charged with three counts of aggravated trafficking in a schedule W drug. He lives at 46 High St. Charges were elevated because police say he was selling within 1,000 feet of a school zone.
“We’ve been working on information he’s been trafficking for a while,” Moen said. “It’s a fairly large amount for this type of arrest.”
Auburn’s officer in the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency was involved in the arrest.
Hydewas being held at the Androscoggin County Jail without bail.
