This is in response to the articles about the little lost Yorkie dog, Maggie Mae.

When Maggie Mae was returned to her family, safe, shampooed and groomed besides, all I could do was thank God for the compassionate woman who went into traffic to keep Maggie Mae from certain death.

How many ordinary citizens would have shown such consideration for the life of a little dog in the street?

While I empathized with the family of the dog, it was unattended and had slipped its collar. That is not the same as being dognapped.

The woman who rescued Maggie Mae brought the dog to the police to be reunited with its family. She did not attempt to keep the dog.

How considerate of them to decide not to press charges.

I offer my heartfelt thanks to the kindly woman in the maroon scrubs who went out of her way to rescue Maggie Mae. And for promptly returning Maggie to the police to be reunited with loved ones, another big thank you.

I hope the family of Maggie learned a lesson about pet safety through their experience. And I hope they thanked the lady who rescued their dog and showed such loving kindness toward a disoriented, fearful little animal.
