KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) – Gambian forwards Sainey Nyassi and Kenny Mansally scored in the first half to lead the New England Revolution to a 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Wizards on Wednesday night.

The 19-year-old Nyassi, who like Mansally was signed after an impressive performance at the under-20 World Cup last year, has two goals in three games for the Revolution (2-1).

Mansally had an assist on Nyassi’s goal, which broke a 1-1 tie in the 33rd minute. He passed to Khano Smith, who drove past Kansas City defender Jimmy Conrad to the end line and centered the ball to Nyassi, who buried the ball in the net from 7 yards out.

Mansally made it 3-1 in the 40th minute. After a long free kick from Mauricio Castro, Mansally collected the ball in traffic about 15 yards out and fired it past Wizards goalie Kevin Hartman.

Before Wednesday night, Kansas City (2-1) had not given up or scored a first-half goal or failed to score after the half this season.

New England went up 1-0 in the 12th minute on an own goal charged to Wizards midfielder Jack Jewsbury. Jewsbury tied the game in the 28th minute, converting a penalty kick after Shalrie Joseph’s foul on Kurt Morsink.

Morsink stripped the ball from Amaechi Igwe near the center line and made a long run into the penalty area before being fouled from behind by Joseph. Jewsbury put his penalty kick low and to the left of New England goalie Matt Reis.
