In industrial and commercial real estate circles, the “Dunham” name is synonymous with “getting the job done right.” The real estate brokers at NAI The Dunham Group have helped bring highly sought after jobs and businesses to the Twin Cities.

The SIOR designation stands for The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, representing today’s most knowledgeable, experienced and successful commercial real estate brokerage specialists.  Tom Dunham’s firm, brokering real estate deals for more than 30 years, has four of the state’s five

SIOR members.

NAI The Dunham Group is also the exclusive representative of NAI for the state.  This affiliation allows the company to exclusively represent numerous national and international companies. “The future looks bright for the Lewiston-Auburn area, and we’re working with city officials to expand the area’s tax and employment base,” stated Dunham.

For example, the Portland real estate firm assisted FedEx Ground in moving to River Road in Lewiston. As part of a national expansion, FedEx Ground is relocating from its current 34,000-square-foot building into a bigger 89,000-square-foot facility further down on River Road.

Also in Lewiston, NAI The Dunham Group is responsible for leasing space to quality tenants at The Promenade Mall and in a building being redeveloped on Lisbon Street, and selling 972,000 square feet in the Roy Hill and Roy Continental mills, and the eight-story building known as Manufacturers National Bank.

In Auburn, The Dunham Group recently brokered the lease for Bisson Transportation to lease 103,000 square feet of warehouse space from Gendron & Gendron at 55 Logistics Drive. “This Gendron Distribution Center, serviced daily by the St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad, is predicted to eventually build out to comprise an amazing 450,000 square feet,” Dunham said.

“It’s certainly been a pleasure doing business in the Twin Cities,” Dunham stated. “Its city leaders are pro business and understand the importance of a timely approval process,” he commented.

The current trend in the industrial sector, Dunham said, are manufacturers who are seeking warehouse space where their needs for power, transportation, and permitting can be met quickly. “The Lewiston-Auburn area is attractive to local and national businesses because it offers several fully approved industrial land parks that are easily accessible to the Maine Turnpike,” he said.

Dunham believes L-A is well positioned to draw in even more business, especially with the recent construction of the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Lewiston. “It makes the Twin Cities more attractive to the distribution and logistics industry,” he noted.

Dunham also pointed to other amenities that the L-A area has to offer: an intermodal facility, the Lewiston-Auburn airport, a Foreign Trade Zone, a U.S. Customs Port, and Pine Tree Zone benefits.

“We’re ready to help with any commercial, industrial, office, retail or investment needs.  We’ll work hard to exceed expectations and ensure that objectives are achieved,” Dunham promised.
