There are too many school-age children in this nation doing poorly in math because of the way it is being taught. I have heard from sources that there are many students who must take math courses over in college because they do not know how to do it.

People will always need to know how to do addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. What was so wrong with teaching it the way it used to be? I believe the old way was much better.

Children today seem to be confused by the teaching methods and lack the interest it takes to learn the new way. Plus it makes it much more difficult for parents who try to help their children get through the homework.

The old way was simple.

Why change?
