AUGUSTA (AP) – A crash involving a UPS tractor-trailer that overturned on Interstate 95 shut down northbound traffic through part of Augusta for much of the day.

State police say no injuries were reported Saturday when the double-trailer rig drifted off the road just past the Western Avenue overpass, then crashed into some guard rails and overturned when the driver over-corrected.

Traffic was detoured at Exit 109, but motorists were able to use various side roads in Augusta to get back onto the Interstate.

Southbound trafic was not affected, but the northbound lanes remained closed for hours as crews worked to clear debris and recover the truck’s contents that were strewn on the road.
