SOUTH PORTLAND – The American Red Cross of Southern Maine will host its 10th anniversary breakfast to honor the recipients of this year’s Real Heroes Awards at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at the Wyndham Portland Airport Hotel (formerly the Sheraton South Portland).

The breakfast honors local individuals or groups who have demonstrated an act of heroism and have shown courage, kindness and unselfish character in their service to others.

Local recipients are as follows: Community Service Real Heroes Award, Cyndi Robbins, owner of the Poland Spring Resort; Youth Life Saving Real Heroes Award, Tameika Girardin, Casco; and Environmental Service Real Heroes Award, Joan Saxe, Freeport.
