Night of laughs
LISBON – The Lisbon Emergency Inc. is sponsoring a “Night of Laughs” Comedy Show at 7 and 9 p.m. Friday, April 18, at Lisbon High School. The PG-13 show will feature three stand-up comedians from the Boston area: Bob Seibel, Tom Mitchell and Eric Hurst. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the show for $10.
Grange Ag Night
POLAND – Agriculture Night will be observed at the meeting of Excelsior Grange, 446 Harris Hill Road, on Saturday, April 19. The program, beginning at 7:30 p.m. before the business meeting, will include a brief talk by a local farmer with experience in the growing and marketing of small fruits, such as blueberries and raspberries. All members and friends of the grange are invited.
Notes 95 years
AUBURN – A 95th birthday party was held to honor of Marie Haskell recently at the home of her son, Gary, and his wife, Mary, Garfield Road.
All of her six children were present, traveling from Florida, Massachusetts and Maine. Haskell received a money tree, gift cards, candy and flowers.
She enjoys knitting mittens, crocheting, quilting, reading, and car rides.
She has six children, 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She resides at 20 Great Falls Plaza.
Bridge winners
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on April 14 were: first, Cynthia Bonsey and Nancy Lindgren; second, Henry Lerette and Paul Mitnik; third, first in B, Helen Little and Alberta Turner; fourth, Mary Leahey and Paul Sherman; second in B, Roger Labbe and Ron Chenard.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games.
