The St. Dominic Regional High School chapter of Key Club International attended the New England District Convention from March 28 through March 30 in Springfield, Massachusetts. There were 10 students and two chaperones who took the trip down. Normally, a trip from Auburn to Springfield should take about 3.5 hours, but due to weather difficulties and an accident that caused bumper to bumper traffic, the trip took roughly seven hours.
During the convention, there were many panels and banquets where different Key Club ideas were shared and where different awards were given for the past year. Elections for the district board were also held. Delegates Darcy Reed and Michael Girouard represented the St. Dom’s chapter in the elections. The students had a fun time attending all of the meetings and just hanging out during dinner and between forums. The weather on the way back was much better, and everyone made it home in a safe and timely fashion.
