ALBANY, N.H. (AP) – A New Hampshire man has been arrested on kidnapping, robbery and aggravated assault charges stemming from an attack on a man in Maine .

Police arrested 24-year-old Michael Merrill of Albany, N.H., at his home following a lengthy investigation initiated by police in Fryeburg.

Merill was charged in the March 29 attack, in which a Massachusetts man was beaten with baseball bats, stripped of his clothes and left in a snowbank after a botched drug deal.

Police say Merrill is the third suspect charged in connection with the incident and was arraigned Tuesday in the District Court Northern Carroll County as a fugitive, where bail was set at $100,000.

No contact with seven other involved participants was ordered as an additional condition of release.
