WOODSTOCK – Town Manager Vern Maxfield announced Tuesday that a special town meeting will be held Tuesday, April 29, to reconsider five ordinances initially approved at the March annual town meeting.
Maxfield said amendments were made to the ordinances prior to the March vote, but without enough time to legally announce the changes.
“… it was important to give people time to review the amendments before considering those changes. As a result we have held a public hearing since the regular town meeting as required by law and will ask for a revote before putting the ordinances into effect,” he said.
The ordinances deal with subdivision requirements, building permits, property, maintenance, tax-acquired property and the Board of Appeals.
Copies of the amended ordinances are available at the town office and will be available at the April 29 meeting in the conference room of the town office starting at 6 p.m.
Also Tuesday, selectmen met with Road Foreman Randy Eastman, who told them he and his crew have tested two dump trucks and prefer the GMC.
Eastman said the GMC has a better transmission and seemed better suited to the crew’s uses.
Selectmen authorized him to study prices and other information further before a final decision is made.
