LEWISTON – With the support of local dining establishments in the Lewiston-Auburn area, the Discovery School is set to begin its spring fundraiser. The school is raffling off a package of gift certificates worth more than $500.

The gift certificates in the package come from 13 restaurants, including: Wei Li’s Chinese Restaurant, Holly’s Own Deli and Wine Bar, Dore’s Cafe and Market, Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant, Espo’s Trattoria, LongHorn Steakhouse, Marco’s Ristorante Italiano, Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar, Patrick’s Burrito Bistro and Deli, Ninety-Nine Restaurant and Pub, Davinci’s Eatery, Grazziano’s Italian Restaurant and Gritty McDuff’s L/A Brew Pub.

Chances are being sold for $5 each or $20 for a book of six.

Due to the support of the restaurants, 100 percent of the proceeds will go back to the nonprofit school for its programs and tuition assistance fund.

The drawing will be held on Friday, May 30. Tickets can be purchased at the school which, located at the New Life Community Center, 134 College St., or send a check with name, address and phone number to the Discovery School, 134 College St., Lewiston, ME 04240 and the ticket stubs will be sent.

The Discovery School is Lewiston-Auburn’s newest grades kindergarten to 12 school. It is a nonprofit community-run school dedicated to treating children as individuals and supporting their natural desire to master the world around them.
