Spring concert
RUMFORD – A coffee house spring concert will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at St. Athanasius-St. John Church Hall to benefit the Catholic Community of Western Maine capital campaign.
Evan Belanger, Annette St. Pierre and Andre St. Pierre will appear. Admission is $5.
Grange open house
BETHEL – Alder River Grange 145 will hold an open house in celebration of Grange Month at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, at the Grange Hall, 1895 Intervale Road.
State Grange Master Jim Owens will attend along with other guests to honor two Alder River members who will receive special certificates in recognition of 50 years of continuous membership.
Day of prayer
RUMFORD – A National Day of Prayer observance will be held from 12:20 to 12:40 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Memorial Park, end of Congress Street.
Area pastors and anyone else who desires to attend will meet informally in a circle to pray for the nation and the leaders of River Valley communities. The public is invited to participate and may call 364-8712 for more information.
Bible conference
MEXICO – Mexico First Baptist Church, 20 Roxbury Road, will hold its annual Bible Conference at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, May 4.
Harold Duff of Rockland will bring messages related to evangelism. Duff has been a speaker in churches and in Christian camps all over the New England area.
Each night Chris and Ronda Shaw, local musicians, will provide the special music.
Duff will also speak to the adult Sunday school classes at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Bob Peters invites everyone to attend the special services. For more information, call the church at 364-8712.
Lyme support
DIXFIELD – The Lyme Disease Support Group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Ludden Library. For more information, call Susan Holmes at 562-4690.
